Sound Card Problem

I'm having a problem with the sound cutting out in my system. After a random amount of time ranging from 1 minute to 10 minutes, while playing music or not, the sound just stops and I get silence. The decibel meter on the rack interface still shows sound output. A reset temporarily fixes the problem, but then it just cuts out again randomly.

Hardware:

Asus A7V266-E mobo (KT266A)
WamiRack 24 sound card (high end recording system with pci interface)
Sony STR-DE875 receiver

Setup:

The sound card feeds a coax digital signal to a rack mounted interface, and that interface feeds a coax or optical digital signal to the receiver. This setup worked perfectly for me for about 2 weeks, then we had a series of power outages. All the equipment was hooked up to good spike protection. I have since tested the sound card (and rack interface) in another system and it still works perfectly. The receiver still works perfectly when hooked up to other devices, or the same card in another system. It seems to me that the problem must be with the motherboard or power supply in the computer. However, in all other respects, the computer still functions correctly. Maybe a grounding problem?

If anyone has had a similar problem or can otherwise shed light on this issue, please post! TIA

sounds alot like you toasted something
cause it doesn't go straight away, sounds like it's either something overheating (is anything hot to the touch?) or maybe even a capacitor is fvcked =/

how good at electronics are you?

try to single out every possible faulty link in the chain

if all else fails any chance of sending it back and getting a replacement?

hope that helps

edit: didn't read properly

I have replaced: RAM, PSU, motherboard, CPU.

None of the above fixed the problem. Again, the receiver works fine, and the sound card works fine in my main computer. Any other ideas?
