Sound Card Not Recognized

I have this weird issue where one PCI slot does not recognize my sound card, but a different one does. I tried another PCI device in that first slot, and it recognizes this device, but it just won't recognize my sound card. That first PCI slot also used to recognize my sound card, but after a WinXP blue screen of death crash, that is when it stopped recognizing my sound card after rebooting. Does anyone have any clue what could be the problem? The slot and the card both work, just not together.
 
That kinda stuff can happen due to IRQ sharing. Had this problem as well with my Audigy 1 a couple of years back, it just wouldn't work in that one PCI slot while the ethernet card did. It worked just fine in another slot though
 
yeah I agree that it might well be due to IRQ issue might be worth poking around in the BIOS to see what is set against the PCI ports.
