This isn't a "oh no, I MUST get this solved TODAY" question since I've lived with it for a few months now, but it is getting on the annoying side of things.
So anyway, I have a Win2K install with an AWE64 that up until May, worked fine. One day in May, with nothing out of the ordinary or new, I thought I lost my sound card since it wasn't in my devices but when I scanned for it, it reappeared and worked afterwards. I lose it again after turning off the computer, but without fail, it'll redetect itself after forcing a scan.
I've checked the card seating and resource settings (no conflicts), and nothing seems to add up. I haven't moved any cards or touched the BIOS since I built the box, and I don't think it's a power issue since it's an integrated board with only a network card and the sound card installed, running on 145W. I've also swapped with an identical card but that doesn't help.
This issue just adds an extra 20 seconds before I listen to music or play a game w/sound so it's not killing me, and it's certainly not worth an OS reinstall. Does anybody have any ideas? Thanks for the help.
