Sound card not being recognised?

Hey, my system specs are:
3.6 ghz P4 Prescott with HT
1 gig of hyundai DDR2 533mhz
Geforce 6800 GTo (12/6)
Sound Blaster Live! 24 bit
Dell Motherboard
Today I uninstalled my creative sound card drivers, and now when I try to install the new sound card drivers it says it can't recognize any creative hardware. I haven't opened my case and physically tampered with my sound card in any way, and my sound card doesn't appear at all in device manager. I've tried restarting my computer multiple times and it still isn't recognized by anything, does anyone know how I could get the sound card to work properly? Thanks. (Im sure that i'm installing the right drivers for my sound card btw)
