I have this IBM ThinkPad 760ED, and when I first bought it, it had Windows 95 installed on it. Well, I had ruined the operating system somehow, and I went on eBay and bought a used hardrive. Well, before I had ruined my old hardrive, I had a modem and a sound card on it. Ever since I bought the new hardrive, it cannot detect the modem and the sound card. So can someone help me on getting ways so that I can fix the hardrive so that I can have sound and internet?

What operating system do you have installed on the new hard drive? You need to go to IBM's website and search for your particular model number ThinkPad under the support section. There should be drivers available for both your soundcard and modem.

GOSH! IBM's website is so big! I can't seem to find what I am looking for about the Modem and SoundCard. I'll keep looking, I could use some help though. "Please." Everytime I find something that will solve my problem, it seems to bring me somewhere else, so then I go back and click on another link, and that's not what I wanted..... BLAH, BLAH, BLAH!

Try going here. Click on the link at the top that says Support and Download. Once that page loads look for the Support Topics. Right underneat that you should see "Downloads and Drivers". That should take you to a page to select the Category which would be Thinkpad. Then select the subcatagory 760ED. You need to know the model number. This will take you to a list of all the downloads available. There is a Download Types heading and you can click on Drivers just to see the drivers available.

Good luck.

Hi, You definitely need the drivers. If you can't find them on IBM's site, go to driversguide.com and search for them. Sometimes they will direct you back to IBM at the correct location. If not, then some kind soul probably has uploaded them to driversguide. Good Luck, Jim
