Sound Card Line-In

How do I make out which is the line-in of the soundcard on the rear side of my CPU?

If the jacks are color coded it's the blue one and there should be a little icon stamped into the metal plate next to it. Compare the icon to the one next to the line out jack (the green one). The icons are the same except the arrows are in the opposite directions.

There are three jacks on the rear side of the CPU - pink, green & blue (in that order from the L.H.S.) but the icons are above the jacks & not next to the jacks on the metal plate which is what you have cited. Also the icons accompanying the blue & the green jacks on the metal plate are identical. I couldn't make out the difference in the arrow positions of the 2 icons. So I would like to once again get it confirmed from you whether the blue jack is indeed the line-in of the soundcard?

I intend to connect my music cassette player to the line-in of the soundcard. Please note that my PC external speakers connect to the green jack.

Maybe a dumb question, but: why don't you just plug it into each one until one of them works? Or try the manual?

Also, it is not necessary to randomly bold words in your post. In fact, it makes it harder to read.

Yes, the line-in is light blue, the line-out/speakers is light green and the mic is pink. That is the standard color code.
