I can not for the life of me get my GTXP to install at all!!

system specs:
1.2duron
512drr
7vrxp(kt333)
gf3ti200
win2k

I have tried it in win98 and no go. Tried diff. pci slots, no go. What do I do now? Is the card dead or what? I got the apps to load for it in win98, but it gave me a no sound card present error:(

you're using the latest drivers from the website? they have instructions on how to get it installed on the webpage. does win2k detect that there is a new hardware detected?

Yes, it detects it right away, and I installed the drivers, I followed the instructions even....I get a blue screen when the drivers part comes to cwcspud.sys, and my ntrun.dll is fudged up for some reason:( I am going to try it on a fresh fromat on a dual pIII tomarrow.

I've had problems with two soundcards in the last couple of years and I have found the simplest of all solutions to work!

I moved them from one socket to another AND boom it worked. Don't ask me how or why, but it's been the case twice! (And this is after checking to see that they were both properly connected.)

EDIT: Sorry, I just noticed that you changed the PCI slot on 'em.

how long ago did you get this gtxp? have you tried exchanging it for another one? it seems that you are doing everything correctly from what you said. so i would think you should try to exchange it and see if you have better luck with another gtxp. btw, it is a really great card. the downloadable drivers do the job great in winxp. all you do is run the exe and restart, it finds everything and you just have to point it to C:\Program Files\Hercules\Audio\Game Theater XP for all the drivers that it's looking for.

I bought it form igowerf, who said he had it working in win98, but not winXP, and that he bought it used fomr someone that had it working in win98. I got nothing at all. Hercules thinks its my system, and everyone on the forums thinks its the drivers....I am out of ideas, I spent 80$ on this f@cking card and it DOES NOT WORK AT ALL:disgust:

I have NOT left igowerf heat yet, but I am thinkning I am going to leave some negitive as this thing is dead and all he tells me is that it worked in win98...

Oh joy:(

Sc0tty8, I DID test the card out in Win98 and it worked for me. The previous owner also had it working under Win98. I had detailed information about the card in my FS/FT thread about the problems that I had with it.
I'm really sorry that you went through all this trouble over the card. I went through the same trying to get it working in WinXP and hoped that you wouldn't have any problems. That's why tried to inform any potential buyers about the problems that I had with the card. I've sent you a PM with more information.
