sound card install gone bad

i tried installing a creative labs sound blaster on my asus a8v deluxe and when i boot my

rig back up it says "system failed cpu test" and the first time i tried to do it it booted to

my bios and setup screen. i dont know what to make of this there is no reason my mobo

shouldn recognize the card or bringing any errors. any tips ideas or solutions???

i had a a8v with aug.zs something like this happened too im thinking......
what slot are you in
is mobo sound off
have you taken sound card out /uninstalled driver/software and retried
in stalling
?

i had it 2 slots below the agp slot. and yes i disabled the onboard before i plugged the

sound card in. also.. i just upgraded my whole computer, and the sound card worked

flawlessly on my old mobo so i know it isnt the card. thank you for your replies.

Does it boot when you remove the sound card ?

I've never had more problems with a piece of hardware than I had with my Audigy 2 ZS. Try Creative Tech Support, they spend a LOT of time helping people out with the havoc their products wreak on computers. I would suggest the Creative Tech Support forums AND contacting their Tech Support via email.
