Sound card in Vista 64

I've read about issues with Creative sound cards in Vista. I'm trying to decide whether to move my Audigy 2 over from my old XP system or not. I'm currently using the onboard sound of the Gigabyte GA-P35-DS3R motherboard.

I've done some gaming and haven't noticed any problems with the onboard sound, but I haven't listened to much music yet. I run my computer audio through my Onkyo receiver, stereo configuration.

I have no trouble either, but I am not sure if I have EAX support or not, most my games are installed on XP partition.

EAX does not function in games that do not use OpenAL in Windows Vista with nonAlchemy (DirectSound -> OpenAL wrapper) systems. Sound will still work, but you will miss out on all of the "special effects" that EAX provides.

Just bought the Bioshock, surround works on it in Vista x64.

i switched from my onboard sound to the audigy and to me it was worth the switch plus audigy soundcards are dirt cheap

of course there is, onboard sound can't compare to Creative's hardware solution of decades of development.

all games sound better.

all music sounds better.

hell even noise is better - lower.
