Hi all,

I'm doing research for Sound Card that will be used for music recording, voice/guitar.
Support for two Mics.

Any suggestions would be appreciated.
Price around $100-150

Thanks.

Edit: I currently have TurtleBeach, SantaCruz.

The M-audio Mobile Pre USB would do what you want in your budget, but you would be better off saving a little more and getting the M-Audio Fast Track Pro (gets you 24 bit conversion and S/PDIF I/O- worth the additional cost).

Hmmmm, interesting.
So with this I don't have to replace my sound card?

If I understand it correctly, everything is done thru USB, and directly transferred to my PC, don't have to connect it to my sound card?

Also, which do you recommend, USB or Firewire? I have both.

If I understand it correctly, sounds card's recording quality will be at lower quality level than these Mobile Recorders?

Thanks, sounds like a very good option.

Correct, you could leave your current sound card in (although sometimes it is nice to have a hardware profile setup with the internal card disabled, but that's usually if you have 2 PCI cards).

For these types of applications and interfaces there is virtually no difference between Firewire and USB 2.0- you're really not pushing all that much data through them.

The M-audio options would definitely provide you with better sound quality than your current cards. They are on the prosumer level; you can expect decent results from them (the mic pres and conversion)- larger factors for quality will be, in order: source (your guitar or vox), room, mic, monitors.
