Just wondering if theres a big deal with usen sound cards for games as far as a Audigy "2:ZS" or a "4 Pro" or any of the other sound cards.

I'm guessing the only advantage is when you use hardware to master music when recording?

I would much rather spend $24.99 on a 2:ZS then buyen a 4 pro for $80 and get nothing out of it.

Also I may get a Surround system in the future I have a Old Pioneer setup with 4 x 12in speakers in boxes and its only pro logic. Only thing holding me back is I know some small surround wont bump like my old system.

Im also guessing theres a way to hook a surround into the old system also so if you can that would rock.

any ideas?

Also: I already have a Nforce2 board with nvidia surround chipset or whatever. I do hear distortion in games at times like a short skreeching noise. People tell me a new sound card will stop that and increase performance in frame rate by alot.

From the last review I read on the A4, it's basically just an A2 ZS with a breakout box, albeit slightly upgraded. I'd just stick with the ZS since it's a cheaper option. It's the best gaming card on the market right now.
