More information needed to vote. Are you going to use it strictly as a computer sound card? You're not hooking up an Xbox set top DVD player to it are you?

If it's just for your computer, no question the GTXP. A USB sound card--you're asking for trouble.

Unless I had a laptop, I would never consider the Extigy. For that matter, I'm not crazy about the Herc GTXP that I had either. Unless you really need the breakout box, I'd consider either a Audigy or a Santa Cruz.

i'd go extigy...form all the reviews i've read, i've heard of no problems from the thing...
but that's only because i'm not too keen on the GTXP either...the breakout box doesnt' do anything for me, especially w/ it's nearly obsolete USB 1.1 ports (which is ok fi all u're using them for is joysticks or something) and an array of other connexions i'll never use...cept the headphone jack.

the extigy can be used standalone w/out a computer AFAIK as well...which might come in handy...looks nicer too.

personally i woudln't get either, but that's just me.

Speaking from personal experience...the extigy sucks ass big time. Do not buy it. I have one for my lappy and have been utterly disappointed with it. Do NOT buy a cl extigy!
