Been a wee while since ive been on these forums: not had much £££

But now i'm looking to upgrade from my crap onboard codec, cant remember what it is, Creative CT5880 apparently.
Anyways I think the output signal on it is rather tinny so I want something better.

UK based, buying from the UK therefore and spending a MAX of £50

Using soundcard for a little gaming & a lot of mp3 listening use
I'd like a card with good Signal to Noise ratio and perhaps a headphone output terminal, 5/6/7.1 surround sound and all that stuff isnt really necessary.
I have the lineout of my current setup into my Sony hifi which is nicely powered (200W RMS).

Options:
Creative Soundblaster 5.1 Live/Digital (£20/£40)
Creative Soundblaster mp3+ (external USB) (£30)
Creative Audigy 1 (not 2, too expensive) (£45)
Philips line of Edge cards (£30 - £70)
Hercules Fortissimo III (£40)

i'd really fancy a M-audio Revolution but its rather pricey (£72) and it isnt too good with games supposedly but if someone can convince me otherwise.
If anyone can convince me on the Audigy 2 and its pricetag (£80) aswell-actually ive just read that Soundblasters have compatibility issues with VIA chipsets??
The Philips line of card seem good-yesno?
I can't seem to find many sites with comprehensive reviews of many soundcards?
Ok so can someone please help me?

IIRC, the 5880 is either a Live or a SB128. For music and not games, you would probably be best off with a card such as the Santa Cruz (not listed above) or some card that shares its chip (I believe the Fortissimo III also has this Crystal chip).
