Sound card and my headphones

I am getting very good volume ( by good i mean high ) when i am using my wireless headphones. However, when i use a conventional aiwa, Koss or a sony headphone evern when the sound is set to full i cna barely hear it. There is volume contorl available in the Advent wireless headphones. I am perplexed as to why is there a difference between the amoung of sound i get from a wireless and a conventional headphone.

Maybe your wireless ones have a better amp in them? Or they might use speakers of a different Impedance.
