So I'm playing San Andreas, and it frequently gets very laggy. I don't remember it doing so about a month ago, and I can't think of any hardware changes...
It got me thinking: can an old or poor sound card degrade overall game performance and cause lag? I was initially using on-board VIA AC'97 (MSI K8T Neo2), and when I got to thinking this, I installed my old Turtle Beach Santa Cruz. The latter actually had sound glitches, but didn't seem to improve performance.
While I'm asking... which is actually better, the old TBSC or the new AC'97?
