Sound card advice

I just built a new 2.8 P4 8oomhzFSB system with a Abit IS7-E motherboard and a Geforce FX 5900fx. I was thinking about getting a sound card. I have an old original SB Live X-Gamer, right now though I am using the motherboards onboard sound. Mainly I want better sound for games. I know the X-Gamer is pretty old, is it not worth it to use it. I was thinking about either getting a Turtle Beach card or an Audigy2 non platinum. Any suggestions?? Right now I am just using a 2:1 speaker setup. I really know nothing about sound cards, thanks

So should I not bother using my Soundblaster X-Gamer and get a new card?? I keep hearing good and bad things about the new Creative cards, compatibility issues. I've only heard good things about the Turtle beach cards, but do they do EAX2 3D sound in games??

just keep the sb live until you think that $200 in your pants is bothering you

i have a SB live value and it does me good, certainly a lot better than the VIA on-board sound, and i am pretty picky about sound
