Sound card advice for 4 spkr set

I currently have an ensoniq with my altec 45.2's but am looking at the altec 54's and want a low end card with 4 spkr support. Would the sblive be it? I hear of lots of compatibility problems with them with some combo's of cpu,mb's.

I would suggest a live value for 40 bucks, or a SB 128.

mx300 is a bit better for 3d environments...sb live is better for over all quality (like recording, I mean)

Thanks for the info guys. I'm checking out a used sb live today for 45cdn and might pick it up. I only use it for games and mp3's so far and have had a few creative labs cards over the years since 8 bit days.
