Sound card 4 Sennheiser PC-150

K I've read most of the sound card threads and the general consesus seems to be that only to get a good sound card if you got good speakers. Since I only plan on using headphones most of the time I was wondering if anyone could recommend a sound card that would be enough for the sennheiser pc-150s.

PC-150s aren't high impedence are they? They don't need an amp to get the potential out of them, right?

(I'm too lazy to look this stuff up as I'm not familiar with the PC series)

Chaintech AV-710 has excellent 2 channel out when the high sample rate mode is selected. The card has 3 mediocre DACs and 1 high quality wolfsen DAC. This one can be enable for stereo out with the newest drivers. This will give you very good quality output.

If you're using EAX, it wont hardware process it like an audigy, but for headphones I don't think that's going to be a huge issue for you.

I have no personal knowledge as far as sound in games goes vs an audigy because I've never used an audigy.

I just thought I'd bump this because I'm still not really sure. So for headphones the chaintech av-710 will use it to its full potential? I know you said it won't be a huge issue but that's a little too vague for me. Will the EAX make a difference with headphones? I don't want to buy an audigy 2 zs when it might be overkill for headphones. Headphones headphones headphones headphones...

umm yes but is it necessary? I just want to know if headsets will use the audigy 2 zs to its full potential. Will the EAX be put to good use or will it just be a waste? If not then what should I get? Chaintec AV-710? I already know the audigy is a good card...

If your primary purpose for your system is going to be games even w/ headphones I'd suggest an Audigy of some type, If your going to do other things besides games the Chaintech is a good card espicaly for headphone users.
