Hi guys. I accidentally connected my Panasonic bluray htib into the av receivers hdmi dvd input instead of the bd/dvd recorder hdmi input. Now iv lost the av receivers front panel display. Anyone know of any fix options. Cheers

any input should work

but other than that i would suggest
1. power off on
2. unplug for @ 10 min or so then plug in and turn on
3. microprocessor reset

if non of the above work well not sure
whats the model?

I read somewhere that there is something to do with hdmi handshake. Not sure what that means or weather it is relevant to this kind of issue.

when you said front panel, i assumed it was the display f the avr

do you mean the actual screen?

Nah. Its red standby light goes off it boots up and sound is fine through the speakers. But the display on the front panel wouldn't light up even after I unplugged everything. Sorry to hassle you with the question. Just couldn't find any answers online anywhere. Lol

the display could just be bad, it happens. certain denon models are know for this

there is usually a fuse and or cap that go bad on those
involves some solder work

if the unit is old it may be time for an upgrade

Was hoping it may just be the fuse. But it doesnt look like there is anything wrong with that. Damn. And looking inside doesnt seem to be anything burnt out and fried look to any boards. But im gunna take it to a guy I found today who does free quotes. See if its a minor or unrealistic to pay dilema. With that said it still sounds fantastic through the speakers. Just a shame that I cant access the menu to do any kind of custom speaker vol. Setups or all the different functions available in the unit. Lol. Alls good and thank you for the advice and the help. I will however replace the glass fuse and see how that goes. Cheers mdram.

Hi guys. Yeah even tried to sus that option. But without the front panel display I couldn't get the dim functions to work. Lol. I don't have a button on mine. Iv gotta go into a set up menu and use the units front panel buttons to navigate through the settings
