Sound Blaster Live! Value

What exactly makes this card a "value" card? Any missing features? No software bundle? What? Thanks guys. 🙂

So just analog sound then huh? Will it still support a surround sound speaker system? Thanks. 🙂

P.S. How much of a difference will I notice between digital and analog sound?

It supports surround sound. I think the output is only for recording to stuff like a minidisk. The quality is great. Sound quality is the same with the Value as all the other versions.

The second revision one has digital out...its the yellow colored jack in the back. I guess its missing the extra bracket with the different I/O jacks. Also the jacks aren't gold-plated....I guess those are the differences..if I missed any please feel free to fill in for me. The sound quality.....I use the normal outputs and not the digital ...by the way I have the first revision .....which has the digital connector on the card....which you can use directly from your CD-ROM or DVD drive...sound quality is awesome. There are no other words to describe the difference between the Live value and my old AWE64.

I've got an AWE64 ISA right now. I think the sound quality is pretty good but I haven't heard an SBLive yet. I'm sure I'll be blown away by it when I buy one.

I'm buying an A7V so bye bye ISA cards! Not exactly a horrific loss though. 🙂

|mpeg|: Not really, the retail version of Value has a full bundle. But you cant find retail Value anymore, a while ago they were very popular.

some values have digital out; for the ones that don't (like mine) you can call up creative tech support and they'll send you one

"some values have digital out; for the ones that don't (like mine) you can call up creative tech support and they'll send you one"

Where'd you hear that?

i heard it first from the sheet that came with my fps2000 speakers

then i confirmed it by asking creative labs customer service and having them send me to tech support

then i further confirmed it when tech support sent me the digital adapter with no hassle 🙂
