Has anyone heard of this?
One of my computers is using a "Sound Blaster Live! Value" card running Windows ME =|
In a few games, software DVD players (PowerDVD 3.0), and Winamp, certain sound modes such as "Wave_out" (Out_wave.dll) will cause the computer to freeze after 10-15 minutes of playing. After which a high pitch "humming" follows.
I found a fix with PowerDVD by switching from "Wave Out" to DirectSound, but a few games will freeze regardless, again the annoying "humming" sound.
I've been through the traditional junk, upgrade motherboard BIOS, drivers, check for IRQ conflicts, it all passes. It eludes me.
