sound blaster live! software ?

is there a way you can set up a 4.2 system with soundblaster live! without using their software? It seems like theres another program that has to start up for my speakers to work. can you just get some drivers or something?
my problem was that without the software, only two speakers worked. i have to set the 4speaker setting in the software it comes with.
anyone got any ideas?
 
i had a similar problem

in the software Audio HQ theres an option to set up speaker mode, for 4 satellites select Quadrophonic Speakers....

if this doesnt help goto windows control panel, sound and advanced properties from audio, then also select Quadrophonic Speakers...that should solve it
