Sound Blaster Live! HISSING

I don't know what happened... but a week ago my sound blaster started to HISS (like static noise) when I play any music.... I already made sure that its not the speakers by plugging it into another computer and playing the same songs.

I don't want to have to buy another SB Live! if its just a minor and fixable problem... anyone know why it might be HISSing?

thanks,

bleu 😉

haha, that's a good idea... would have been funny if you were right... but no, mic is off...

i actually think i found the cure... Liveware XP = hissing.... uninstalled it and using XP internal drivers... no HISSING

interesting... no?

UPDATED: The crackling is starting again.... the songs would run a few seconds perfectly and then start making noise... =(

I had strange crackling and hissing problems before with my Microsoft Digital Sound speakers plugged into Live Value.
I think my speakers were picking up strange interference in my room.
Sometimes it happened...sometimes it didn't.

This is not sometimes... its all the time... and I'm about 99% sure its not the speakers... I played the same songs (more than one to make sure it wasn't the song) with the same speakers on another computer... clear and no weird noises =(

OKOK, i found the REAL problem... for sure now...

guess what... its VCool.... VCool cools down the temp on a CPU significantly...

i just had to tweak some of the VCool PCI settings.. no more hissing/crackling
