Sound Blaster Live 5.1 problems with surround in Win XP

I just installed Win Xp and everything is working fine except the surround speakers ( I have a 4.1 speaker setup). The only way I can get my surround speakers to work is if I manually go into the Creative software and re-select 4 speakers (note: the software is all ready set to 4 speakers). What is the problem and how do I fix it? Thanks
 
did you download the xp driver from creative? If yes, try setting it to 4.1 in the sound properties in control panel
