Will this card work OK with older DOS games?

I have a SB 16 SCSI-2 but I wanted to use the wavetable synth on the AWE. If the AWE won't work I'll have to throw my Turtle Beach Maui daughterboard in there and *try* to find the DOS drivers for it. :Q (FM Synthesis is HORRIBLE!) Duke3D has pretty good MIDI musical tracks...

Cheers!

The AWE64 was awesome in DOS, though there were one or two games (very few) that didn't recognise it as an AWE32 for the synthesizer.

Load a really good GM synth (Nothing better than this one!) and you'll have top-notch gaming.

Oops... the Synergi GS soundfont requires 24 or 48MB of RAM. Umm... I guess you'll have to stick to the standard 4MB GM set. It's okay..... I guess. :) You can always get a 3rd party memory module like I did. :D I have a 28MB AWE64 card but no ISA slots to put it in... :(

I'm-a gonna' get me one of those Soyo Pentium4 motherboards with ISA slots just to use my classic Roland LAPC-1 and 24MB AWE64 along with the new SB Audigy2 and other modern hardware.

What can I say? I likes' me MIDI! :D

I have two floppys that came with my card, one is called "Sound Blaster AWE64/AWE64 Gold Driver Disk", and the other is called "Configuration Manager Installation Disk". I assume you need the first one. I copied these disks to my hard drive and zipped them up, so if you want them, just write back, or send me a PM.
