It is nothing revolutionary over the Audigy. It uses the same DSP, therefore sound quality and positional audio will be nearly identical. I can't see justifying the upgrade from an Audigy, Santa Cruz, Acoustic Edge, or Gametheatre. Perhaps it is worth it to upgrade from the SB Live!, MX400, onboard audio, or some other older more mediocre audio solution.
... Neither the TBSC nor nForce have support for EAX 3.0, which is what all of todays newer games use for 3D Sound. That's all the reason to upgrade.
Personally, I would prefer not to buy a Creative Labs card because of their long past history of having really poor drivers. Unfortunately they're the only company that offers such high-end, well-supported sound cards. If only options weren't limited.. I'd love to have a Turtle Beach Santa Cruz II with EAX 3.0 and all other kinds of goodies.
