So, I am trying to setup my Sound Blaster Audigy 2 ZS with my surround system/receiver. I have all the outputs hooked up correctly (I am using the 3 analog outputs with cables that split them into 2 RCA Plugs....for a total of 6). I hooked up the Rear and front speakers, which all work fine. Here's where it gets fun
I hook up the Center/Sub channels like they are supposed to. (To clarify, this is on a Onyko Receiver...one of the RCA plugs goes into the center input, the other the sub). I hook them up the "right way" and the following happens. When I run the Channel Tester in the THX Setup Console...the thing where it cycles through the channels to test them....everything works fine, including the sub woofer and center channel. Good sound, good volume. However, when I play anything from the computer, I get no sub sound, and next to no center channel sound. I fiddled around and switched the Sub/Center inputs on the receiver and viola! it worked.....however now whenever I try to adjust the channel levels, they are switched. Like, when I go to move the Center Channel output up, it increases the bass (remember, the sub is technically running off of the center channel output...and vise versa)......My question is, what the hell is going on?
Why in god's name would the channel tester work just fine, every channel sounding good, and then any other program doesn't work with the sub/center channel?
I have tried iTunes and Windows Media Player for testing....as well as Creative's own media player....all with no luck (all other speakers work, its just the center/sub that fail when they are hooked up "right"....and then they work when I switch them)
Any Ideas?!
