Sound/Audio Forum

I think it would be a good idea to make a Sound/Audio forum dedicated to computer speakers, speaker placement, sound cards, audio settings, audio tweaking, sound problems, micrpohones, and things of that sort. Just a thought.

Here's an idea on how I feel the forums should best be listed:

Technical Support
CPU/Processors & Overclocking
Motherboards
Cases & Cooling
Video
SFF, Notebooks and Pre-Built PCs
HTPC, Sound & Audio
Networking
General Hardware
Operating Systems
Software, Applications, Programming and Games
Distributed Computing
Highly Technical

Change Peripherals to the HTPC, Sound & Audio forum (as Peripherals can really go in General Hardware), but moving Technical Support to the top should hopefully make people go there for support first, rather than General Hardware, which should be for discussion, NOT troubleshooting. I'm sure most people go there because it is listed first.

Of course, this is just my opinion, and I have suggested many times before that the order of the forums get modified, but it never happens.

I seem to remember (poorly at best 😀) someone mentioning changing the order the forums are displayed in being kinda hard. Like it would require changes to the backend or something.

I'd personally rather have an alphabetical order, but other than OS being so low on the list yours wouldn't bother me. Much. 😉

I think OS being lower is a good thing, maybe it'll attract fewer of the "NTFS or FAT32" kind of people 😉

Agreed. I swear that 90 percent of the questions in OS are reposts. "XP Pro or Home?" 😛

Back the OP's suggestion, I think a sound/audio/HTPC forum is an excellent idea. These types of threads pop up in all sorts of different areas now; it would be nice to consolidate them in a single location.
