Sound and video out of sync but only on one computer

I have a few Divx clips that play fine on my computer but not so fine on my girl's laptop. She has a Dell Latitude C600.... P3 850, 512MB RAM. I tried updating the drivers for the ATI Mobility M3 chip it has, the sound drivers, and it still doesn't work.

When the hardware acceleration is up all the way the video plays slow, which obviously keeps it out of sync. However, when you back off on the hardware acceleration in Windows Media Player the video plays normally, but the audio is a few seconds ahead (or behind).

All the codecs are installed.

Any ideas???

The laptop is near minimal specs for mpeg4, and if I were to build a multimedia PC, I'd probably give it more power. WMP is not the best player for low spec systems, and there is probably some background programs or services running that you don't need. Try an older version of BSPlayer, tweakxp.com, tweaking the player you're using.

btw, when you reply to your own thread, it looks to us like someone already answered you. 😉
