Sounblaster in DOS

I just dusted off my old AWE32 and put in my Athlon 1.4@1.6, i took an old HD and installed DOS 6.2 on it, problem is the sound, everything works, thats not the problem, but when in a game 16-bit sound is playing (like the voice of Tex Murphy in Pandora Directive) I get an annoying 'crackle' on the right channel, what could this be ?
I'm not having it with 8 bit sound and also not with AWE-midi music, just with 16-bit sound, hmm ?

Please help

Ps: I've installed the right drivers, no IRQ,address,... -problem either
