Some places ask for transcripts, but in reality, not really

I just started grad school, and reflected that on my resume, yet at the career fair the recruiters would ask me what my GPA was - i think that they get tired of reading them and just ask their questions
i did have my undergrad gpa on there
at a situation like a career fair, they are gonna ask you for it though, guaranteed..if not then they will assume that its bad

Is that your major GPA or your overall GPA? In situations where you have less than a 3.0 in your overall but your major classes you have above, you would put 'major gpa.'
That being said, it totally depends on the job. Some people don't care and go on experience, some will be sticklers about it. I didn't have this one companies expectation of a 3.5 (it was 3.3  ) and they asked for a transcript DURING my onsite visit. Afterwords they're like, we'd love to give you the job because you're way more than qualified but we have these rules set in place. I just laughed and said I wasn't interested.
It also really depends on what you are interested in doing.. some skills are needed over others to the point where they'll hire you on this alone even if you're not the best choice because they're in such desperate need.
Good luck
