Soul Calibur?

Yeah, Spawn on the xbox and helachi (sp?, the end boss from Tekken) on the ps2. I'm torn which to get, here's my reasoning

xbox - best graphics / weak controls

gamecube - coolest character / worst control

ps2 - best control / worst graphics

It'll probably be the xbox version. No way I'm getting all three

How did I play Soul Calibur in EB when it doesnt ship until atleast August 29th? When is it released for XBOX? Will it be just as good on XBOX?

Is that a GameCube exclusive? I played it in EB today and my god did it kick ass. Xbox? PS2?
It originally came out for Dreamcast and kicked ass then... Ah, those were the days...

I think the import versions came out months ago. There were also some preview discs issued IIRC.

I am really looking forward to this game, I loved the Dreamcast version. Maybe it can tear me away from Super Smash Bros. Melee.

When you say worst control on the Gamecube version, are you referring to the controller or is that a weakness in the game?

i have the ps2 version- i think the graphics and control both work fine...i havent played the other consoles yet though

Well, here's what IGN said in their import review of the GC version:
Skeptics be silenced, the GameCube controller works brilliantly with the game. There are more than enough buttons and the layout is easily manipulated because Namco has assigned key combos to work perfectly either by using the face buttons alone or, if things get tricky, in combination with the L and R buttons.

GC controller still sucks. The stupid D-pad (is that what they still call it?) is feakin smaller than small! The buttons are also suckage. Also, check this out, although it might be YMMV. ONE PENNY SCII Demo disc.

I've read several reviews for all 3 systems. General consensus:

Control:
1. PS2. You simply can't beat it for this type of game.
2. Gamecube. Personally I think the GC controller is a bust but it apparently works well for SC2.
2. Xbox Controller-S. Some reviewers preferred it to the PS2 controller, interestingly enough.
3. Xbox Controller (original). Universally loathed by reviewers when playing SC2.

Graphics:
1. XBox. Ooh, pretty. Good in Hi-Def.
2. Gamecube. Also very good.
3. PS2. Not quite as nice as the other two.

Load Times:
1. Xbox
2. Gamecube
3. PS2

Bonus Characters
1. Gamecube. Link seems to be the current favorite.
2. Xbox. Spawn makes a crappy movie but a pretty decent fighter
3. PS2. Heihachi? Come on, dude doesn't even have a weapon. Apparently pretty blase too.

I really think controls are totally based on personal opinion though. I love the regular XBOX controller, and I could never use an S. I am so used to the regular one. I also like the GC controller, and hate the PS2 one.

nope people say the on the xbox with the controller s it kicks ass.

the game was originally intended for GC exclusive so i figure they'd have thought out the GC controller

i played the demo on the gc and the import on the xbox.
the graphical differences were nothing substantial IMO,in fact i didnt notice a significant difference at all between the two.
