What did it do?

Its either the alternator (although it should still start on the battery and run as long as its connected to another power source) or it could be that the engine has seized. Does she hear any noises? Clicking? Etc. Maybe she should check the oil

There is a main fuse box under the hood of the car. It will big a big black box with a lid with some very over sized fuses in there. Have her look at them to see if one is popped and to go back into walmart to get one of the same to replace.

Only thing is if that is popped then there is an electrical problem. Hopfully the easiest one is a shorted out battery but doubtful. If the main fuse is blown something big time would of had to short out to pop it.

But if there is no lights, no windows, locks, lighter, click click under the hood, dash lights like brake-temo-oil, and didnt have any when it was being jumped then it is loose connection some where. It doesnt have to be right there at the battery. Could of com pff down by the starter, behine the alt, or the ground strap going to the body has come off and in some cases there may be a ground strap going from the engine block to the chassis that if it comes loose the rest of the car will not complete a circuit.

But for sure it cant be jumped and NOTHING is lighting up you have a loose connection somewhere. Start at the battery and then the fun from there will begine tracing all the battery wires from there to all the other connections.

Something like this happened to this cute college girl once. She tried to get a friend to jump using cheap low grade cables and nothing happened. So I let her use mine that were much thicker (higher gauge) and vrooom it came alive. I told her she should drive to a Kragen and she would have no problem getting a guy to test her battery and replace if needed.

Even if the engine seized all electical accessories should still work if the battery isn't dead or a bad connection at some point.

Exactly, which is why I asked if she heard any clicking or anything. I don't see anywhere that he mentioned the electric components dont work. Maybe thats why the girl thought it wasnt the battery, because the stereo and what not comes on

EDIT: Nevermind I see he says the doors don't lock (assuming their power locks)

Seems like could be the alternator then

Try taping the alternator with jack shaft?

Yeah, my first car was an I-6 that took a crapload of power to get started...I think the battery was a little undersized. You had to use thick cables, and keep the other car revved up quite a bit, or it wouldn't crank enough to start.

I've had a similar experience with a "security" feature on the car. According to the manual, I had to have the key turned partway for 10-15 before I could start the car again. I forget the details, but while on the phone with the dealer, they tell me that the security feature isn't really a security feature 😕
