AHH! This sux. Less than 2 weeks ago, we could have bought 256 PC2100 ram from crucial for less than $31. Now, it costs so much. WHY!?!?! AHH! Anyone know why this is happening (for you economy/market people) and will it go down?

Mind you, this really belongs in off topic.
Supposedly this happened because of some legal ruling that Hyundai and some other company lost.
If it's true then pc2100 will probably climb and climb. I wouldn't be suprised to see ddr ram near or exceed the prices of RDram.

$43 is still not too bad. When the news first broke a few weeks back, I placed a quick order for 2 sticks at $31.00. Then, all of the cynical people started to question whether the increase would happen. Then, BAM! it hits a few days later.

Good thing I'm maxed out heheheh. Never thought I'd have a computer with 512MB of RAM. That's 4x the storage of my first hard drive! :)

Please, I am sure a lot of other people on this board my age or older have some stories, but when I built my first PC in 1994, I got two 8MB modules. I thought 16MB was absolutely amazing at the time. The price? $250 PER MODULE. Total=$500 for 16MB.

So, $43 for 256MB seems pretty reasonable to me, heh!

I'm building 4 machines at work. that little price increase just cost me (well, not really me) $80 :( ($10 increase x 8 sticks of 256MB DDR)
