So i turned off F@H on my oc'd 3.2 ghz system a few days ago to encode a dvd...I kept wondering why my production was so low...needless to say i forgot that I don't restart my comptuer for months at a time...oops!

So does this happen to any of you others? < Please say yes to avoid further embarrasment >

---> If it makes it feel any better my pc is the equivalent to a small airplane's noise output also!

Nope, doesn't happen to me!! ;)

I have an onscreen display, permanently telling me the usage of my CPU, and if it is below 100% for longer than 5 secs, I know there's something wrong with my DCs!

There's been times where I check a system and the F@H service is stopped for some crazy reason.

if it will make you feel better, I've done the same thing with SETI. :Q

There's one PC I log out of instead of just lock the window.

And yes, I know there are service installs, but they have some issues that I can't work around. So I just lock the session.

I do periodically pause the CPDN service on my gaming PC when I want to play games, but it is after all just 1 of the 14 rigs I have going 24/7. ;)

Only time I've shutdown SETI was when Virus scan was scanning the HD. I did forget to restart it once or twice. Was really PO'ed.

I will also admit to playing games that lower my production.

yep I too am guilty of this in the past

now I just do service installs and never turn off nothing.

but I have an rma that will cost me at least a weeks production tommorow.

I try to run two DC projects at once, like SETI with Seventeen or Bust in the background, so my CPU is never idle even if I forget I turned a project off (or ran out of work, etc.)

Well, I did it again! I was upgrading my best cruncher to SP2, then I installed NU's Speed Disk. I shutdown SETI while running Speed Disk (a defragging pgm) and told myself to remember to turn SETI back on. Well, many hours later, I looked in my systray for SetiSpy to check on something and the panic set in! I lost at least 6 WU over that time, could have been more. :( Will we ever learn?

FYI: I installed SP2 because I was having probs with IE freezing and was told the solution to the prob was to go to SP2. I waited a long time and tried it on a few other computers first. So, far it is fine.
