Last month Jan 25th. I ordered $295.00 worth of Merch. from OM. The WD 80GB HD ($19.99 AR) The WD 80GB External HD. a $5.00 mouse & some kind of Keyboard...
I did this over the phone as I was working until noon that Sunday and figured the HD's would be gone. Everything seemed to go fine with the ordering process....
By the 6th of Feb. No product to the door. I called a couple of times and finally one of the CSR's (2/06/04) tracked my order and e-mailed me the news that my order (part of) was sent to an address 50 miles from my home, and that the other part was sent to Ohio.
Please understand that I live in N.CA. That CSR stated that she would keep me updated on the process. Being a friday I gave them another four Businesss days to deliver the order. No word from anyone or any items sent to my home. Thurs 2/12/04 I call to inquire about my order and was am informed that It was re-issued and sent out that morning. Nothing by Tues. the 17th. So I called once again, this time I talked to a VERY sympathetic CSR. He says he's putting "Katie"on it, and that I will hear from someone by the end of the Business day. To this day I've never heard from "Katie". Oh, he also see's, that there are rebates involved and assures me that we can do some kind of an IR, since I'm already past the 14 day window to qualify for these rebates. Sounds good.
I called back the next day (2/18/04) after not hearing from anyone. This time I get a "Robert" who takes a half an hour with me talking to the D.C. out here on the West Coast. Turns out they're less than 50 miles from my home (the D.C.), and we are now three plus weeks out on my order (NewEgg they're NOT!). The D.C. has no record of my order! Meaning they didn't send it out last Thurs. 2/12/04? "But they can do an Inventory which would take a few days". Or we can do a "new order" and credit back your account/Credit Card?" I not so nicely, stated that I was less than inclined to charge anything back onto my credit card with OfficeMax based on this experience so far. That ended that conversation. Thurs 2/19/04 talked to a very sympathetic "Ellie" said she would research it and get back to me. Gave me her direct line. Monday the 23rd having not heard from "Ellie" I called and got her Voice-mail. Kindly asked her for an update, left my cell phone # home # & e-mail. I still haven't heard from her.
Later that afternoon I called and talked to a Suzanne (trust me I have been requesting a Supervisor/Manager way back to Dan on the 17th) she promised to call me first thing in the morning (2/24/04) would "zero out the order and start a new one" as it was after 4:00 P.M. in Ohio and she needed to talk with a Manager for approval. I did state to her that there are rebates involved and my concern in regards to them being honored if she re-did the order with today's date. I've never heard from that woman again. Today I finally got to a Manager "Meredith" (2/25/04) four weeks to the day from my order. The usual question. "Sir have you received any of this order?" "No I haven't." I explained the situation to her in as calm a manner as possible. Granted, I haven't always been so kind. She contacted the D.C. "Said it might take a while," "Would I like her to contact me later on?": I told her that "I would hold as no one has ever called me back in the last month."
I also informed her that I wanted my merchandise, that I really didn't want to cancel the order. They are now sending the order to me by UPS, should be here in two to three days. I asked her why, when OfficeMax realized that they had sent the order to the wrong address, why wasn't it Overnighted to me back on the 6th of Feb.? She had no answer. Now She wants me to submit the Rebates, when they are denied, contact her and she will get them validated for me. So this nightmare continues for another 6 to 8 weeks at least. Any thoughts, or suggesstions? I've considered having my credit card not honor the purchase? But that's a whole other can of worms.
Does anyone know of anyone I can contact to go over their heads. I'm dealing with OfficeMax Corporate in Ohio.
Thanks for providing this forum to MOAN !!!!!!!!!!
