These should run together right? The A64 3200+ is this one: http://www.amdcompare.com/us-en/desktop/details.aspx?opn=ADA3200DIK4BI
The mobo is this one: http://msicomputer.co.uk/Products.aspx?product_id=703504&cat_id=77
I have just bought this mobo to run with my A64, 6600GT and 2x512 PQI PC4000. These components are all I have connected. As soon as I switch on I get a picture for about one second, maybe less, of the 6600GT info in the top left, then the system seems to lock. The screen goes blank. I can toggle NUM and CAPS in that first second but not after the freeze. Im nowhere near to the point of being able to hit DEL for BIOS.
If I leave it in this locked state for say ten seconds the A64 is burning hot; very painful to the touch. There is nothing wrong with the paste and HSF cause I can put all the stuff onto a Asus A8V Deluxe and its fine.
Have I messed up? I thought from reading the mobo specs the A64 3200+ is supported, but from the way it almost instantly locks and burns up it seems like it is being run at a FSB or voltage way to high or something. Or am I just totally losing my ability to understand this young person stuff as I move through my late 20s?
