The nut comes up beside me and his girlfriend looks over and waves bye bye. I had two of my buddies in the car and then the guy in the IS300 with his GF takes off. Not even close. I pull him off the bottle by about 15 car lengths up to 130 then let off.

Really stupid thing for me to do because I haven't street raced in forever and why should I start back?(I-459 no traffic but still not smart). At the end all I could think is that it wasn't worth it. I should have just let the guy think what he wanted and just continued driving normal. I would have to say that is the end of those days. Only the track from now on.

I don't understand it. With all the aftermarket parts you have, the other guy didn't even have a chance. You showed nothing except that you have more money in your car.

From what you said there was no skill involved in beating him....

LOL, pretty STUPID of him for provoking you (and you for racing him;)), but I know which car I'd rather have parked in my garage :D

Think about it this way.. you taught him a lesson. He might not be so eager to race from now on, which is a good thing.

a win is a win...only the loser bitches about mods and cheating.

-=bmacd=-

edit: besides, for what the guy in the lexus paid for his car, i'm sure a close amount was put into the stang, so i'm sure it was a fair race.

He doesn't necessarily have more money in his car... Those little IS300's cost a fair amount more than a 2000 Mustang GT. With all the mods to the mustang, it will still probably come in cheaper.

I can't bash street racers because I still do it. Its more about which guy has the bigger nuts. Immature, but it takes time to grow out of. If you're going to do it, the best thing to do is at least hold 2nd by his door and then bark 3rd in his face :)

mmm normally i'd say "duuuude good for you...you beat a car obviously slower than yours" but this time the guy asked for it and was a turd...so "kick his ass seabass!" is in order :)

Do you realize how much he has in his Mustang?

IIRC it's more than double the cost of an IS300.

Snicker!

Someday though, you will point and just laugh...I don't know if that ever happens for most guys, but as a woman, I would like to think it does! :p

I haven't gotten even gotten the bottle filled since I have had my car back. Between work and keeping up my new house and dealing with other crap I haven't had the time. Soon. Soon. I will get to the track and have a time.

Excellent.. I'm really curious to hear what it will do. Out of curiosity, all that work on the engine, why remain with the stock cam timing? Sounds to me like there should be some options which will allow you to remain smog-legal while improving horsepower (while still working with the nitrous). Sorry, I'm not an expert on the modular motor, so I don't know what's available...

Of course it was worth it. So you don't get to see his face after you school him. But for that moment you know that you put him in his place and could only imagine what his girlfriend is doing to him, or the lack there of... :)

Yes I should get different cams to go with the ported and polished heads and forged crank. Also the new cams would help open up the top end.

My Isuzu Rodeo with 3 friends packed in beat a '91 Accord my hockey buddy was driving. I was thrilled.

Heh, sorry, SUVs don't usually race and it was damn fun... my one and only ever.

Why stop now? It sounds like things are just starting to get good. :)

Cuz street racing is dangerous and very illegal, if you kill yourself, that's fine, its the other people on the street that you might injure or kill. Race on a track, where its controlled, and much safer, you can still beat those rice rockets there.
