Could be anywhere. You jump between private computers before hitting an exit node to the open web. There's exit nodes all over, and they tend to be overworked because there aren't enough of them. It's a hassle running an exit node, and you can get a visit from the party van. It gets straightened out eventually, but that's little consolation when you're sitting around computerless. Anyway, that's why there's fewer exit nodes than there needs to be.

I was reading up on networks like Tor. An interesting one is Project Meshnet: https://projectmeshnet.org/

But one of the issues with all of these type of networks is exit nodes. Nobody really wants to volunteer to run one, and I don't blame them, so there's not much. It's like trying to download a torrent that nobody is seeding.

As more and more countries get taken over by the "AA"'s and the US government it will be harder and harder to have any real privacy. You can encrypt/bounce all you want but at some point it needs to be decrypted.

Most of the time AT blocks the ip when I'm coming in thru tor, usually inadvertently. Sometimes I can get a post in before it's blocked. I think they must use some sort of service that keeps up with identifying the tor nodes.

The amount of spam and threatening PMs we get from TOR exit nodes would blow your mind. So they're blocked for good reason.

Plus we don't have SSL, so if you want to send your session cookies through TOR in plaintext...

But nobody would run a honey trap exit node :D

I wonder if anyone is running filtered exit nodes, to only allow outgoing connections to whitelisted IPs... and to not allow HTTP-POST :D
