Been there, done that ... i.e. slept in a room with fan noise. When I moved to a totally quite room I realised how much better I sleep in a quite room. :colbert:
That is why I have taken care to make the house as quiet as possible and that is why the computer room is way separate from the rest of the bed rooms.

I'm just the opposite... after serving aboard a ship... i can't sleep unless it's noisy (white noise) 😱

What are you running 4x quad GPUs?? If RL isn't getting in the way too much I'm sure everyone here would be very grateful for a stats update too 🙂
 
Status:
9 computers (5 with 8 cores each, 3 with 6 cores each and 1 with 4 cores = 62 cores) plus a total of 12 GPUs are running now. All CPU-cores are running WCG or RNA; the GPUs are running Einstein@home, Seti@home, DistrRTgen and GPUGrid. The latter two projects only yesterday and today ... lest see what this can produce ... 🙂

The heat produced is almost too much, but I am moving it with two fans into the rest of the house. Expected end of repair: in approx 2 - 3 weeks ... 🙁
 
Peter - what GPU(s) do you have on Einstein@Home? i tried looking for myself, but your computers are hidden...

3 x GTX460
2 x GTX260
3 x 9600GT

All OC'ed somewhat.
All GPUs split work with Seti@home and some other projetcs ...
 
oh wow 😱, i didn't realize you had all of them on Einstein@Home, even though they're all sharing time w/ other projects. looks like my stay at the top of the E@H weekly stats might be short lived - i've maintained the top spot for the last 3 weekly stats updates, and boy is it a good feeling being the top TeAm contributor to E@H...but even with an average of 40K PPD, i don't know how much longer i'll be able to defend that top spot from you if you continue to put up numbers like 60K PPD! i need to start saving for another nVidia GPU!

@Sunny: don't worry; there are five projects competing for the resources:
Einstein@home: RAC of approx 32K
Seti@home: RAC of approx 32K
Collatz: RAC of approx 92K (depending of a different way to calculate credits)
DistRTgen: i don't know, but approx 110K (depending of a different way to calculate credits)
GPUGrid: Just started ... probably RAC of approx 40K I don't know how much it will turn out ...
Probably a total of RAC 300 - 400K ... just guessing ...
