I was a loyal Verizon customer for about 3 years total. Never really had a big problem with their service because I never really had to call their CSR. I ordered back when DSL wasn't popular yet so to get everything set up was quick and easy.
So recently I just moved from home to a new apartment. I called in to transfer service from my old place to my new place so I can keep the same user name, email, etc. Took about 40 minutes for a sales rep to tell me something is weird with the computer but he will fix it and give me a call back. I even asked him, "Are you SURE you will call me back?" He said yup. Of course I never did. Called in a second time and the nice lady said "oops the first guy messed up. I'll fix this problem immediately and you should get service with equipment by next week." It took an hour but I was still trying to be understanding. A week later, no equipment, no service (tried it with my old modem). Called back in. Took another hour to figure out that the previous nice lady forgot I lived in an apartment so did not include my apartment #. So then the guy reassured me everything was fine now and I should get my equipment next week with service. Next weeks, nothing. So I'm talking to another rep again and his reaction was "holy cow, wat the hell" when he first pulled up my info. He said my info was all weird and service was tried to initiate 5 times on the same line and there is a signal on the line right now. He has no idea what's going on and I have no idea what they're doing back there either. But this is ludicrous. Is it really that hard and difficult to turn on dsl service and send out equipment to the correct address???
If I didnt like their pricing and newsgroup access so much, I'd say screw you bastards and go with someone else.
Okay so I just got off the phone and the guy said there is a signal but not a useable signal. I'm like wtf. He said he has to call up provisional (???) department to have them test the line and release the signal so a new order can be placed. I said okay and he hung up. WTF??? I thought I was going to get transferred.
