sorry guys..another burning question

when making audio cd's, in nero or ez cd cr8or, you drag the mp3 to the "burn" folder and press start. i know that the mp3's must be transformed into wave then burned onto the cd.

my question:

does this make the burning process longer?

i have a 12x and when i do cd copy, the burning process takes approx 5 minutes.
when i make an audio cd, it takes 12 minutes. the buffer goes down a bit too.

any ideas??

Yes the conversion process does make it take longer, but not any longer than if you converted them yourself manually first and then burned them. Probably less time the way you are now doing it actually.

so would it be unrealistic to want the conversion process and the burning process to happen simultaneously thus allowing me to burn (from the moment i press start when making an audio cd) in 5 minutes????

There is more going on when you do that then just burning. No, you should not expect a conversion/burn to go as fast as a straight burn. It's just like with anything else, the more you use the processing power for one thing the less is free for something else.
