Dump didn't mean what he said back in January, at least about giving christians priority. He probably still thinks Obama was actively screening christians and prioritizing muslims though. In fact I'd put money on it. Anyway...

So my questions is, where is the outrage from the evangelical community? Being christian apparently counts for so much (and is easy to test for!) so why this flop of a promise? Could there be some other trait here that counts for something among the refugee wary republicans? Penny for your thoughts guys.

You'd be hard-pressed to find someone who dislikes Trump more than me, but why the fuck does the USA have to accept ANY refugees?

Don't give me that old "give me your tired and poor" crap...that's just a poem...and has no constitutional weight.

The only religion Trump recognizes is the Cult of Trump. He has no other gods before him.

And yet another predictable Baby Boomer Republican FYGM response.

Edit: May I remind you that the first (white, Anglo-American / European) settlers, the Pilgrims, were in fact "refugees", seeking freedom (Religious Freedom) from the Church of England.

America was built on refugees.

Why did America have to accept your ancestors? We should go back and check their immigration status because I think we need a refund. Maybe the circumstances which forced them to leave have changed, and we can send you back where you belong (wherever that is).

You can't take them all in.

Where are you going to stop?

Sorry...I may be a baby boomer...but I am not now nor have I ever been a Republican. Next.

Sorry...many of my ancestors fought the invasion by the Europeans...and those who weren't killed in the fights ended up on reservations across the country...so...at least part of me IS back where I belong...how about you?

The only part of that info that I think is bad is the Mexico-USA migration numbers. I KNOW that the USA is a nation of immigrants...Not a damned thing wrong with that...but we, as a nation, should have the right to pick and choose WHO we allow to come here, rather than deal with those from the bottom of the barrel...like many of the Mexican immigrants who bring their drug/gang/crime problems with them...or the refugees who come here...and bring their problems (and cultures) with them...then bitch when We the People of the USA refuse to accommodate them...instead of them assimilating into our culture. It's fine to keep their cultures and traditions...at least the ones that don't infringe on the rights/freedoms of other people...those they should leave behind.

It seems like some people won't be happy until the wide open spaces in this country are as overflowing as parts of China or India...fuck that.

Thank god your time is about up on this world.

If you are going to be a bigot at least have the balls to admit it you piece of shit.

Folks, any sort of "enthusiasm" for the death of a fellow poster is, quite simply, over the line.

Why are we obligated to take in these refugees? This is one more way I think the left misses with moderates and centralists.

False.

2. The Pilgrims came to America in search of religious freedom.

It’s fair to say that the Pilgrims left England to find religious freedom, but that wasn’t the primary motive that propelled them to North America.

Remember that the Pilgrims went first to Holland, settling eventually in the city of Leiden. There they encountered a religious tolerance almost unheard of in that day and age. Bradford and Edward Winslow both wrote glowingly of their experience. In Leiden, God had allowed them, in Bradford’s estimation, “to come as near the primitive pattern of the first churches as any other church of these later times.” God had blessed them with “much peace and liberty,” Winslow echoed.

If a longing for religious freedom had compelled them, they probably never would have left. But while they cherished the freedom of conscience they enjoyed in Leiden, the Pilgrims had two major complaints: They found it a hard place to maintain their English identity and an even harder place to make a living. In America, they hoped to live by themselves, enjoy the same degree of religious liberty and earn a “better and easier” living.

I'd be willing to bet that none of these so called Christians can pass the bible's litmus test for a Christian. The same can be said for most folks everywhere to claim to be Christians.

It has nothing to do with what I posted. We cannot take in every refugee, there is a limit.
Regardless of the BS you post.

That limit being a couple tens of thousands? In a country with over 300 million people? Fuck off.
