Sorry but who's with me on this?

Fusetalk sucks. Period.

There is so much software out there that is faster, cheaper, integrates well and puts less load on a server. These same softwares are more feature rich, user friendly, and easier to navigate and use.

WHY is Anandtech using this POS software that is sadly out of date, taking steps backwards with newer versions, adding bloat and is obscenely slow?

Sorry, I'm just confused. For Anandtech to be on the cutting edge of most technologies they seem to have escaped the fact that software like vBulletin and Invision Power Board are cheaper (and in the latter case, free), faster, and easier to use.

Somebody give me a hand here... Fusetalk BLOWS. Maybe I'm missing some genious features it has but as of right now... I just see the forum taking a bigger sink than before, since this software from the old version... is worse.

It sure is alot uglier than the last version. I haven't been here for over a month and everything is so much slower and clunky. Oh well, I don't think there is anything that us members can do about it.

The only forum software that is better or equal to Fuse Talk is vBulletin.

Since anand's networking guy is the author of Fusetalk, guess why we are using it.

Despite the look, I have really seen no evidence that vBulletin is better than Fusetalk. If vBulletin used MS SQL, maybe it would be able to handle the loads that Fusetalk can withstand but until Mysql gets a hellava lot better and faster, a board backed on MS SQL will be able to have more users with less problems.

They use it because the guy that wrote it is anand's friend IIRC.

Anyway, I quite like it. Maybe its because I am so used to it, but its interface (sans the new colours) and general feel is far better than than other BBSs

I'm still getting used to it, but hey, it's free and so far is working fine. I'm sure the bugs will get worked out eventually.

Why? Because Jason Clark, the creator of FuseTalk is the head AT webmaster lol. I'm 100% they have this forum free of charge.
