Ah, but of course. Why couldn't I see that a truly intelligent soil conservation effort is what we need in this situation?Originally posted by: Riceball

in mIRC, connect to any efnet server ... then join "#BT" (or type /join #BT) ... as for downloading files within IRC, check the triggers for the channel... they usually vary by channel and broadcast the command every few minutes.

They have +m in the channel, so triggers won't work and you won't be able to speak.
I guess they were getting POed by everyone asking what was going on.

Even if it's the end of the btefnet website (which I doubt) the MPAA can't kill btefnet the IRC channel/group. They never have been able to and never will be able to. Such is the beauty of IRC.
I miss DALnet.![]()

Wait... Can you get shows in HD....
Someone might want to tell me the mIRC Channel.
The MPAA is banking on the fact that you will schedule time to actually tune in during the airtime... thus catch the commercials. Downloading these means no commercials at all. That's the only reason I can come up with.Originally posted by: Joemonkey
how is this any different than using a DVR to record the show then skipping or editing out the commercials???
all i ever download TV shows for is if i forget to DVR something... this is dumb

Dammit, now ill actually have to watch these shows on TV.![]()
It's funny because the previous Supreme Court decision about "Time Shifting" pretty much contradicts what the MPAA is claiming. While cable may be a different matter, nobody has ever signed or agreed to any terms that say "I promise I will watch the commercials with this broadcast TV show." There are laws against profiting from the resale/redistribution of broadcast TV, which is probably how the MPAA will wind up going after btefnet and others, but saying that "trimming the commercials out is illegal" is crap.Originally posted by: rh71
