i should of payed more attention in that class.. anyway i hope i could get some help. This is part of the take home test that is due tomarrow..

I have to write atleast a 1 pg essay (i know it easy) on this question:

What is category-mistake? Who introduced this and how is it used within metaphysical reasoning?

I'm only having trouble with this question is explaining the bold section.

could anyone give me some ideas?

any combination of words with "metaphysical" and any form of "reason" is an oxymoron.

Hint: it is Gilbert Ryle's attempt to relsove the mind-body problem. You must have a text book, read it looking for passages that deal with terms by Ryle such as "Ghost in the Machine" and "Catagory-Mistake and how they relate to mind-body dualism as taught by Descarte. What does Ryle say about mind and body behavior? This is what your question is referring to when it speaks of metaphysical reasoning.
