Sorbs Blacklisting my email

Last week I started to get some of my business customers who contacted me telling me that they were getting emails sent to me returned. Below is what they got.

Sorry, we were unable to deliver your message to the following address.
(myemail.com)
Remote host said:
550 Sender IP (XX.XXX.XX.XXX) is blacklisted at new.spam.dnsbl.sorbs.net.

I contacted sorbs.net and they sent me a robotic response saying that my IP address was tagged as a spammer. I sent them a letter telling them that I do not send out spam and they are disrupting my business and are causing a financial issue as I conduct my business via email. I keep getting a robotic response.

I checked sorbs.net with WHOIS and sent emails to their company representative. I have yet to hear a response. In doing a GOOGLE search on this company, others have said that this is a ransom company forcing people to donate money before they would take you off their blacklist. Their website has no phone number listed on their website and the only responses I can get are from a robot. Any thoughts? Not even sure what my corporate attorney can do?

Nothing in the US, freedom of speech.

Your customers should be able to whitelist you in their mail servers (the mail server, not individual mailbox spam filter). You can also try to convince them to stop using sorbs if you can build a case that their results are not accurate.

Edit: you can also set up a company account with GMail or (with a little work) Amazon SES, but they get blacklisted too. Still, if you have 2 different ways to send mail you can recover from bounces on one account by using the other.

Check the spamcop blacklist as well as the ironport senderbase.

I checked both my IP addresses with Spamcop. Neither are on their blacklist.

I'm not sure what you mean by open proxy, but when I checked senderbase subnet, it gave me this:

RBLs can be a pain - they're great at what they're for, but they can also suck as an email admin if you end up on the list. Make extra extra sure your server is really not at fault - no open relays etc. Setup proper SPF records as well. Then submit your server's IP to be removed. Keep in mind RBLs will usually only do this ONCE. What sucks about that is if the previous owner of that IP/server did it before, you might be out of luck.

When I switched to my current server provider my IP was blocked, probably from a previous owner using it to send spam. I was able to get unblocked, but I find I still get bounced backs every now and then from certain servers that might have their own blacklists.
