Sophiaphobia is a medical condition that is a fear of knowledge and wisdom.

They're so ashamed they have no answer to science so their answer is to eradicate the science, eradicate the weather service, eradicate the education because the facts don't agree with their beliefs.

If people suffer from sophiaphobia as millions do sadly, it leads to book burnings, bans and eventually killings.

Remember "I don't want to know, I've had enough of experts" because they're afraid of knowledge.
Don't tell me I have to "think and act responsibly"

The goal is control of anything and everything!

Strangely enough Sophiaphobia is what led to poisoning of Socrates, crufixation of Jesus, burning of "witches", and just anything you can think of where knowledge and wisdom was treated as a threat.

Philosophy is the love of wisdom and knowledge. But it is not unchallenged. There's a counter force to it.. is sophiaphobia. People who hate wisdom and knowledge and will kill to achieve their goals.

Sure. I see all that and agree. But I've already said this: I have carefully studied the 1946 Samuel Goldwyn / William Wyler movie "The Best Years Of Our Lives" to see how the the Greatest Generation -- with my departed Moms 1925 - 2023 -- differs from the current bunch of "Make America Great Again" Trumper Thumpers.

They have no connection to their past. They have "no Honor and no Code". They have no concept of group sacrifice for a better world. And they're all a bunch of fearful sissies. So -- Great Again my Ass!

And if this is all about the black and brown people who are admittedly missing from that film, I still stand by my position on the matter.

The current bunch never got drafted, never served together with a diverse citizenry. So they don't get my respect or civility for promoting their ignorance through a Criminal's election. What I'd like to give them would get me arrested and locked up for assault.

Isn't it ironic that we've been successfully trained to think of, "ignore your instincts at your own peril" as totally radical and basis of wanting violence?

But honestly do you see any signs of their aggression stopping.. if anything the opposition is soft and where they give an inch, MAGA are taking miles.

You're not the only one though.. my own dad just says.. "that stuff will affect the whole country, not just me".


That's the decision every one of us has to make individually.. do we resist and fight back or do we just ignore/ shrug it off since it's better for our mental health?

Any time you see an ad for financial positioning, etc. that is some grifter either talking his own book or some grifter who doesn’t even have a book trying to fleece the rubes. That ad isn’t because they are scared, it is because they think other, stupid people are.

Any time someone is offering financial advice to retail customers outside of the very standard ‘long exposure, diversify, blah blah’ they should be able to answer a very simple question. Since trading is zero sum if this strategy is actually effective then why are you telling other people about it instead of making millions on your own?

If you buy some shares.. always remember, someone was willing to sell them at that price (they either thought they scored or they sold at a loss) and usually it's not the 2nd!

I've just lost any sense of tolerance. Their Fuhrer has exceeded something like 50,000 lies, murdering the truth. How do you have any civil dialog with people who either practice deceit or fall for it hook, line and sinker?

I could expand a litany of observations that the MAGA-ts aren't playing with a full deck. But they and their celebrities have jumped the tracks no longer allowing American politics to proceed as it always has. Instead, they ask us to ignore historical precedent, abjure accepting the evolutionary status quo of successive congresses and generations. We have to accept as normal Trump's uncivil demeanor, and his disregard for facts, figures and the Truth.

What do you do with people like that? What do you do or hope to do when every morning news feed just raises more outrage? Find some of the opposition and have a civil discourse? Or just punch their lights out? Whatever comes to mind, it isn't just that the "Whole world is watching", but the whole world is laughing. I'm mortified. I want to effusively apologize to one part of humanity, and deport the other part to their home galaxy with the Space Force.

I’m ~5 years younger than you and my beard is long and staying long. I’m tattooed from my knuckles to my chest and I’ve been rocking a mohawk for the last ten years.

I’ve got the most beautiful, diverse fam a man could ever want: oldest kid - mid 30s and identifies as trans. Middle kid - early 30s has a child with her SO who is a hard-working Black man. My wife and me raised her oldest son, a 16 year-old gay HS junior with a Puerto Rican pos sperm donor. And finally me, the patriarch of this crew of diversity is a wheelchair bound MS patient drawing SSDI off the government tit.

We live in KY, the reddest of red states and we’re thriving. Wife and all three adult kids are trained and proficient with their own firearms. The 16-year-old has graduated from a .22 long rifle and Ruger .22 pistol to firing my wife's 9 mm. That's a work in progress…

We've had protocols in place for years due to my being disabled watching out for everybody at all times. All we’ve done is modified them accordingly to this environment. We've always been our authentic selves and the children have been raised as such.

I don't say all this to brag and I truly hope nothing untoward happens to you. We have drawn in closer as a family and focus our attention as the times and environment dictate without and I stress without caving to any bullshit thrown our way. We've had to address several issues of bullying and homophobic situations at my grandson’s middle & high school. Administration acted swiftly, without prejudice, and in accordance with their policy. I want to give them credit where credits due but my wife and my grandson's mother are fucking pitbulls!!! Tactfully but firmly they were adamant school board policies were followed to the letter.

To make such a statement, in my opinion would imply, that you know what knowledge and wisdom are. Can you tell me what they are and why, since I myself have no idea, why I have that fear?
