I wanted to change my email address on my profile so I could get stuff from SETI like my certificates, and possible SETI web password retreival should I ever need it.. the problem right now is, as lots of you will know.. @Home changed to @Rogers and I lost my @Home mail address a few months ago.. if i changed my profile address to my @Rogers addy, would I start up a new account with my WU count in there? or would it still work with my WU's going to the @Home account for S@H.

see this is how it is right now.. :

Email I can use.. -> @Rogers domain
Email I have setup at SETI -> @Home domain
Email I want to be able to use without screwing up my SETI account -> @Rogers domain

does anyone have any idea? i'd really love to get it switched, but there is no way in hell i am going to lose a 10,000 WU account for an email switch.. is there a way they can move all my credit to the @Rogers address? or even better yet ... Forward all the @Home data to the @Rogers data on their end, because I'd have a lot of work to do changing all the addresses in all the PC's I use for SETI. that would make me cry.... :(

Anyone have any input on this? can you actually understand my babbling? this is potentially a pretty big problem since I cannot retrieve Emails where they are sending them,(if they are).. If they ever gave out new SETI web passwords I'd be toast..

HELP ME PLZ! :)

Do you know your current SETI account password? If so, you can login with your old non-working Email address and password then edit your settings to a new Email address.

Yep I know my old SETI password, and that's the thing.. I went into my account, and I was going to change my email address, until i realized, gee i wonder if i will still be able to send in my results to this account, because the email will be changed.. you know what i mean?

because all my PC's in the user_info.sah file they are set to return the results to my @home account... but if i changed it to @Rogers on the server I wouldn't be able to run any more on the PC's... you know what i am sayin'?

If I have my SETI web password though, and I can get into my account, which I have.. can I change the address and not have to alter my clients... that is my question...

<< results are uploaded to your seti@home ID number. >>

yep, your e-mail is for stats and what not... so all of your new results would still count under your new adress...

That is totally sweet.. thanks a bunch guys. if I have any problems, I am taking down names :D

when i am setting up new clients though, do i still enter @home or do i change that to whatever i change my mail address to? i plan on using a Yahoo account, and if i am setting up a new SETI cracking box, would i have to enter my Yahoo address? or my old @home address still?

Ditto to what's said above, you can change email address without needing to change the clients, they run using the SetiID, the email address is just so that you can remember, as yield@whatever.com is easier to remember than 1514955 :)

When you change the email address, any new assimilations will use the new account, rather than the old @home account :)

So, pretty much I just change the account on their page, and when I go to check my stats, or do a new assimilation, i use the new addy.. and nothing else changes.. That is pretty slick... I like :)
