DS = AWESOME

It is a LOT like Diablo, but with a much better interface, and no in-game load times!!

Try the demo...you'll know whether you want it then.

comparing DS to NWN is like apples and pizza

I dont recomend buying Dungeon siege unless you realy liked DIablo.

the game play, character devolopment, and extremly linear story are just like Diablo. They did add a twist in dugeon sige by leting you controll a party, but the part combat is so automated it seems like you are watching a screen saver sometimes. Or else your party sucks and you are micromanaging diablo style combat by constatnt pausing.

I give it 1 out of 4 stars. did entertin me for a few hours, but I havent touched it since the first week I got it when it came out.

I think Dungeon Siege is worse than Diablo 2. Gameplay's much more passive: you just seem to watch your party fight, or more often, watch the health bars so you know when to heal. The skill trees & modular weapons of Diablo at least make character progression a bit interactive: no such luck in DS. Your character and his friends level themselves without much input from you. Nor is there much of a story.

It is, however, very very pretty.

I agree with TallGeese: get the demo and see if you like it.

I played the DS demo and I thought it was awesome. I thought it would be a Diablo-like game with an RPG storyline. The game ended up being just as boring and repetitive as Diablo 2, although the graphics are a lot better.

If you want mindless RPG/hack-n-slash fun, it's the best game out there. I have no idea why, but whenever I play DS, it's hours on end. It's addictively boring! I love it. :)

Dungeon Siege is super fun for the first few hours,

then you realize it's the same thing over and over and over and over again.

it's just fighting.

you click on an enemy, your party runs to hack it to bits. meanwhile your mages auto-heal your party. you walk. click another monster, perhaps mix it up with a spell or summoned creature.

it's just fighting and fighting. pretty mindless.

there wasn't anything worth playing for.

but it's mindless hack and slash fun!

Yeah I have to agree with you. The game is really fun for the first couple hours but after a while it gets very repetative. Don't buy it if you have a short attention span like me. I got very bored of it very quick.

I remember dungeon siege, it was a great game that i just sold it on ebay this past monday.

I beat single player mode, then imported my character for online play. It got boring, the online world has a few new areas but most of the 2nd map is the same as the first map in single player mode, except it's just reversed. The online interface is also unorganized, it's just one big room with one long list of games world wide and needs to be refreshed everytime u scroll down a certain amount.

The item system is pretty cheap, an example is 2 boots, 1st boot may have +7 to health and +13 to armor while the 2nd boot has +9 to health and +11 to armor, there so many items like this example which differ "so sightly" with "so many" names such as greaves of the owl, greaves of the wolf, greaves of the fox, that these items have less sentimetal value than those of diablo II. If you found a grandfather sword in DII, you would go nuts and advertise "OMG, I found a GF, I'm willing to trade for 20 sojs!" but if you found an item here, and said "I found lava boots " u might get a response like, how about my rat skin armor for those boots?

compared to the monsters found in final fantasy X monster arena such as nemesis, the 3d in this game looks totally outdated. Warcraft3 is coming july3rd, and I think that's much better and it contains some rpg elements such as lvl up and finding items.
